8 cores MTPĀ® to 4x LC Duplex harness Cables assemblies
The series products are designed for seamless network migration, this 8-fiber MTPĀ® to 4x LC Duplex harness fanout cable offers a highly efficient transition from parallel to discrete connectivity. Featuring a single 8-fiber MTPĀ® connector that breaks out into four duplex LC interfaces via durable 2.0mm legs, it ensures superior cable management and enhanced physical protection in demanding data center environments.
This plug-and-play assembly is specifically optimized for breaking out high-capacity MTPĀ® trunks into standard LC patching systems. It is widely deployed for 40G QSFP+ to 4x 10G SFP+ and 100G PSM4 to 4x 25G SFP28 network migrations. The ruggedized 2.0mm fanout legs provide excellent bend radius control, making them ideal for dense top-of-rack (ToR) switch connections and server-to-storage links.
Available in SM (OS2), OM3, and OM4 fiber types, this harness supports diverse transmission distances and speeds up to 100G Ethernet. Factory-terminated and 100% optically tested, each assembly guarantees minimal insertion loss and reliable signal integrity. By eliminating complex on-site splicing, it significantly reduces deployment time and operational costs while providing a future-proof pathway for high-speed network upgrades.

Application
- Network Speed Migration & Breakout Applications
This is the most typical application for the 8-fiber harness. It is primarily used to split high-speed parallel ports into multiple discrete duplex channels, ensuring backward compatibility with existing legacy equipment:- 40G to 4x10G Migration:Ā Connects a 40G QSFP+ port (e.g., using 40G SR4 optics) via the MTPĀ® end, breaking out into four LC duplex interfaces to connect four 10G SFP+ transceivers for servers or storage devices.
- 100G to 4x25G Migration:Ā Splits a 100G QSFP28 port (e.g., 100G PSM4 or SR4) into four 25G SFP28 channels, facilitating a smooth transition to 25G Ethernet architectures.
- High-Density Intra-Rack Connectivity
Benefiting from the ruggedizedĀ 2.0mm fanout leg diameter, this cable offers significant physical advantages in dense cabinet environments:
- Enhanced Durability:Ā Compared to standard 0.9mm cables, the 2.0mm jacket provides superior tensile strength and better maintains the minimum bend radius. This makes it highly suitable for routing in congested Top-of-Rack (ToR) switch environments.
- Direct Equipment Linking:Ā Ideal for direct connections within the same rack, bridging MTPĀ® adapters on high-density patch panels directly to server Network Interface Cards (NICs) or storage array LC ports.
- Structured Cabling Transition
- Backbone-to-Patch Bridging:Ā While data center backbones typically utilize 12-fiber or 24-fiber MTPĀ® trunk cables, this 8-fiber harness serves as an efficient transition point. It seamlessly converts MTPĀ® trunk lines into standard LC duplex interfaces for traditional patch panels or active equipment.
- Storage Area Networks (SAN) & High-Performance Computing (HPC)
- Fibre Channel Connectivity:Ā Widely deployed in optical channel storage networks to link high-bandwidth SAN switches with storage arrays, delivering low-latency and highly reliable data transmission.
- Cluster Interconnects:Ā Facilitates efficient data exchange between multiple nodes in computing clusters where high bandwidth is required but node port density is limited.
Summary:Ā The 2.0mm fanout design makes this product particularly well-suited forĀ intra-rack and short-distance equipment interconnectsĀ that demand frequent plugging/unplugging, high physical protection, and fixed routing paths.
