12F SM Armored MTP -MTP Trunk Cable 3.0mm
The 12-fiber single-mode armored MTP-MTP trunk cable is a ruggedized, high-performance fiber optic backbone solution designed for long-reach, high-bandwidth interconnects in data center, campus, and telecommunications environments. Terminated with MTP/MPO 12-fiber connectors on both ends, this trunk assembly delivers reliable multi-fiber connectivity with enhanced mechanical protection through its armored cable construction.
Design Principles
Armored Cable Construction. The cable features a helically wound stainless steel interlock armor layer surrounding the 12-fiber bundle, providing crush resistance ≥440 N/10 cm, full rodent protection, and superior resistance to mechanical impact and abrasion. The armored core eliminates the need for external conduit or raceway in exposed cable runs—such as under raised floors, overhead cable trays, and inter-building pathways—reducing both material and installation costs.
Single-Mode Fiber Core. The trunk cable houses twelve ITU-T G.652D or G.657A2 single-mode fibers, optimized for low attenuation across the full C-band and L-band (≤0.20 dB/km at 1550 nm, ≤0.35 dB/km at 1310 nm). Single-mode fiber enables extended reach distances from 2 km to 80+ km, supporting long-haul and inter-building backbone applications that multi-mode fiber cannot address.
MTP Connector Technology. Both ends are terminated with MTP/MTP PRO connectors featuring precision-molded MT ferrules with twelve fibers in a single row. High-accuracy stainless steel guide pins ensure sub-micron alignment for repeatable, low-loss mating. Available in Type A, Type B, and Type C polarity configurations per TIA-568.2, enabling flexible polarity management in structured cabling topologies.
Compact 3.0mm Profile. The 3.0 mm outer diameter provides an optimal balance between mechanical robustness and cable tray fill efficiency, accommodating high fiber counts in constrained pathways while maintaining adequate bend radius management (minimum static bend radius: 30 mm).
Optical Performance. MTP connectors achieve insertion loss ≤ 0.25 dB and return loss ≥ 60 dB (APC polish option available for ≥ 65 dB). Every assembly undergoes 100% end-face interferometric inspection per IEC 61300-3-35 and IL/RL verification per IEC 61300-3-4.

Benefits of Armored Fiber Patch Cable
Common fiber optic cable is fragile, which needs to be protected, especially when in harsh applications where cables could be compromised by rodents, constant wear and tear or weather damage. Armored fiber patch cable retains all the features of standard fiber cable but is much stronger due to its extra layers of armor. With the protection of flexible and durable steel tube, armored fiber patch cable will ensure the excellent operation of your network.
