8F Armored MPO-LC fanout 2.0mm Breakout cable
The 8-fiber MPO-LC breakout patch cord is a high-density fiber optic solution designed to bridge the gap between multi-fiber backbone infrastructure and individual fiber end devices. Featuring an MPO multi-fiber connector on one end and 4pcs of LC Duplex connectors on the other, this cable provides a seamless transition from high-capacity trunk systems to standard single-fiber equipment.
Design Principles
Armored Cable Construction. The breakout cable incorporates a helically wound stainless steel interlock armor layer surrounding the fiber bundle, delivering superior crush resistance (≥440 N/10 cm), rodent protection, and mechanical impact resistance. This armored construction eliminates the need for additional conduit or raceway protection in exposed cable runs, significantly reducing deployment cost and installation time in harsh or high-traffic environments.
Compact 2.0mm Profile. Each individual breakout leg maintains a 2.0 mm outer diameter, minimizing cable bulk while the internal armor preserves mechanical integrity. The tight-buffered fiber design with aramid yarn reinforcement ensures long-term tensile reliability.
MPO Connector Technology. The MPO/MTP connector houses eight precision-aligned optical fibers within a single MT ferrule, utilizing high-accuracy molded guide pins for sub-micron fiber positioning. Available in Type A (straight-through) and Type B (key-up/key-down) polarity configurations to support Method A, B, or C polarity schemes per TIA-568.2 standards.
Optical Performance. All LC connectors are terminated with high-grade zirconia ceramic ferrules, polished to UPC (Ultra Physical Contact) profile, achieving insertion loss ≤ 0.35 dB and return loss ≥ 50 dB across the operating wavelength range of 850/1300/1310/1550 nm. Each assembly undergoes 100% factory testing including interferometric inspection per IEC 61300-3-35.

Benefits of Armored Fiber Patch Cable
Common fiber optic cable is fragile, which needs to be protected, especially when in harsh applications where cables could be compromised by rodents, constant wear and tear or weather damage. Armored fiber patch cable retains all the features of standard fiber cable but is much stronger due to its extra layers of armor. With the protection of flexible and durable steel tube, armored fiber patch cable will ensure the excellent operation of your network.
