24F OM4 Double Jacket Armored MPO Trunk Cable -5.0mm

The 24-fiber OM3 dual-jacket armored MPO-MPO patch cord is an ultra-high-density multimode fiber optic interconnect designed for next-generation parallel optics in data center and enterprise environments. Featuring a robust dual-jacket armored cable construction and terminated with 24-fiber MPO connectors on both ends, this patch cord delivers maximum fiber density with superior mechanical protection for 400G/800G and beyond transceiver architectures.

Description

Design Principles

Dual-Jacket Armored Construction. The cable employs a two-layer jacket system: an inner LSZH/OFNP tight jacket encapsulating the fiber bundle, and an outer ruggedized jacket enclosing a helically wound stainless steel interlock armor layer. This dual-jacket design provides crush resistance ≥440 N/10 cm, full rodent protection, impact resistance, and an additional moisture and chemical barrier. The redundant jacket layers ensure cable integrity even if the outer jacket is compromised, making it ideal for extreme-duty and long-term deployments.

OM3 Multimode Fiber Core. The patch cord houses twenty-four 50/125 μm laser-optimized multimode fibers (OM3, IEC 60793-2-10 Type A1a.2) with effective modal bandwidth (EMB) ≥ 2000 MHz·km. OM3 fiber supports 400GBASE-SR4 up to 100 m and 100GBASE-SR4 up to 100 m at 850 nm, providing a cost-effective multimode solution for high-density, short-reach links.

24-Fiber MPO Connector Technology. Both ends feature MPO connectors with precision-molded dual-row MT ferrules housing twenty-four fibers in a 2×12 array. High-accuracy stainless steel guide pins ensure sub-micron alignment. The 24-fiber MPO format supports 800G DR8/FR8 and emerging 1.6T parallel optics architectures, maximizing fiber utilization per connector footprint. Available in Type A, Type B, and Type C polarity per TIA-568.2.

Optical Performance. MPO connectors achieve insertion loss ≤ 0.35 dB and return loss ≥ 20 dB. 100% end-face inspection per IEC 61300-3-35 and IL/RL verification per IEC 61300-3-4.

Environmental Compliance. Dual LSZH/OFNP jackets compliant with IEC 60754-2, IEC 61034-2, and NFPA 262. Operating temperature: -40°C to +75°C, extended range enabled by dual-jacket thermal insulation.
