OM4 12 cores MPO Female to 6x LC Duplex harness Cables assemblies

The OM4 12-Core MPO-LC Harness Cable is a premium breakout assembly engineered for high-speed data centers. One end terminates with a high-density 12-fiber MPO connector (Male or Female), adhering to IEC-61754-7 standards. This trunk fans out into 6 individual LC Duplex connectors, enabling seamless connectivity to standard network hardware.

The assembly utilizes Laser-Optimized 50/125μm OM4 multimode fiber, which offers superior bandwidth compared to OM3. It typically features 2.0mm or 3.0mm round riser (OFNR) or plenum (OFNP) rated breakout legs for robustness and flexibility.

Applications

1.High-Density 40G to 10G Breakout Cabling
This is the primary application for 12-fiber harness cables in data center environments. It is widely used to connect high-speed switches populated with 40G QSFP+ transceivers to existing 10G SFP+ equipment. By utilizing parallel optics (such as 40GBASE-SR4), the 12-fiber MTP® connector efficiently transmits 4x duplex channels, allowing seamless and cost-effective integration between new 40G network hardware and legacy 10G infrastructure.

  1. Backbone-to-Rack System Transition
Designed for high-density backbone cabling, this harness acts as a critical bridge between high-capacity MTP® trunk assemblies and traditional rack systems. The 2.0mm fanout legs provide enhanced tensile strength and crush resistance, making them ideal for routing through cable managers and connecting core network trunks to individual patch panels or access layer switches.
  2. 100G Parallel Optics Deployments
In modern data centers, this 12-fiber fanout solution supports short-range 25G–100G direct connections. It facilitates the migration from duplex-based 10G/25G applications to parallel optics-based 100G Ethernet, maximizing port utilization and eliminating fiber waste during network upgrades.
  3. SAN and HPC Interconnects
The ruggedized 2.0mm construction ensures high reliability in demanding environments. It is extensively deployed in Storage Area Networks (SAN) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters to deliver low-latency, high-bandwidth links between storage arrays, servers, and core switches, maintaining signal integrity even in congested rack spaces.

Summary: The 12F 2.0mm harness is specifically optimized for high-density backbone transitions and 40G/100G breakout applications, offering the physical durability required for complex data center routing while ensuring seamless speed migration.
